Child Protection Policy

The safety of children and vulnerable adults is paramount and all, without exception, have the right to protection from abuse. All suspicions and allegations will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately. All the Eisteddfod's trustees and volunteers have a responsibilty to report concerns. Committee members and helpers who are in substantial contact with children are checked by the Criminal Records Bureau.

The complete policy is included in the Syllabus.

Equal Opportunities Policy

The aim of our equal opportunities policy and practice is to ensure that all persons involved are treated as individuals regardless of:

  • Age
  • Disability
  • Ethnic or national origin
  • Marital or parental status
  • Political belief
  • Race
  • Religion
  • Gender
  • Sexual orientation

However, as the purpose of the Eisteddfod is to encourage performance by children and young people it is necessary for competition to be divided into age groups and for a maximum age to apply. The committee is prepared to consider the introduction of classes that would diversify the type of performance subject to their artistic merit.

The complete policy document can be provided on request.
